## How this PDF tool works

Add one PDF, choose a size cap, and let SizeCap rebuild the pages as JPEGs until the new file fits. Work stays in this browser.

1. **Add a PDF.** Drop a PDF from your computer or phone. The file is not uploaded.
2. **Choose a size cap.** Use a common limit such as 300 KB, 2 MB, or 5 MB, or type the number from the form. Stay a little under a strict maximum.
3. **Save the smaller PDF.** Check the page count and byte size, then download the new PDF and upload that copy.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?

No. Your browser reads the file on this device and writes a new PDF here. SizeCap has no upload API.

### Will I still be able to select the text?

No. Every page is redrawn as a JPEG so the file can hit a typed byte cap. Use this for scans and photo PDFs. Keep the original if you still need searchable text.

### Which size limits does this help with?

Portals people name include about 300 KB (some India e-visa uploads), 2 MB (IRCC), 5 MB (some VFS forms), and 12 MB (some USCIS evidence packs). Read today’s form. The chips here stay a little under those ceilings.

### Can I open a password-protected PDF?

No. Remove the password in another app first if you are allowed to, then add the unlocked file.

### I have photos, not a PDF. What should I use?

Use Photos to PDF if you want one PDF under a cap. Use the photo compressor if you need separate JPEGs.

- Pages are saved as pictures. Text cannot be selected or searched in the new file.
