## How resize works

Choose a pixel rule, add photos, and optionally a per-file size cap. SizeCap writes JPEGs in your browser.

1. **Choose pixels.** Enter a width and height, or a longest edge. Pick fit-inside (letterbox on white) or fill-and-crop. There is no face detection.
2. **Add photos.** JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, and AVIF work. HEIC does not.
3. **Save JPEGs.** Check the pixels and file size, then download each JPEG or a ZIP.

## Frequently asked questions

### Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

No. Resize and JPEG encoding run in this browser.

### Will this make a passport or visa photo?

No. It can fit a box such as 600×600 or 630×810, but it will not find a face, fix a background, or claim biometric compliance. Crop in another editor first if the form needs that.

### What is the difference between fit and fill?

Fit keeps the whole photo and adds white bars if the box is a different shape. Fill fills the box and crops the overflow. Neither stretches the photo out of proportion.

### Is the size cap for each photo or all of them?

Each photo. Use the homepage compressor when several JPEGs must add up to one total.

### Does this write baseline JPEG?

Canvas JPEG in current browsers is baseline, which is what most forms want. The result labels the file as JPEG. SizeCap cannot promise a portal will accept every encoding quirk.
