Your photos stay on your device
When you add photos to SizeCap, your browser makes them smaller on your device. The photos aren’t sent to a server.
Removing a photo from the tool clears its preview and result. Closing the tab clears the photos from the app. Any files you’ve downloaded stay wherever you saved them.
What we measure
SizeCap uses Google Analytics to see which pages people visit and whether they use the compressor and download buttons. The events we send for these actions contain no photo contents, filenames, dimensions, or file sizes. Clicking a download button tells us you requested a download, not whether you saved the file.
Google Analytics can receive information such as the page you visited, the site you came from, your browser and device, and cookie identifiers. The page and referrer addresses we send have their query strings and fragments removed.
You can use SizeCap without analytics
If your browser has Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control turned on, SizeCap won’t start Google Analytics. You can also block it with your browser settings or a content blocker. The photo compressor will still work.
We don’t run analytics on local development or preview versions of the site. For more about how Google handles data, see Google’s privacy policy.
Other services the website uses
Cloudflare hosts SizeCap, and Google Fonts provides the fonts. When your browser loads the website or its fonts, those services receive connection information such as your IP address. They don’t receive your photos through SizeCap.
